The renovation of Sumur Gemuling was 'on-going' for several years. The condition is now poor especially after the big earthquake in 2006, which destroy some of the part of the building.
Reconstruction of an old house at West Megangan Area
The reconstruction of the house has begun in 2010 and continues until now. The house belonged to one of the members of the royal keraton family. The owner is still connected to the royal family.
Steel and concrete is used as its foundation and is coated with a material to resemble wood. Detailed ornaments of the Keraton are incorporated in this house.
Renovation of the Ornaments
One of Keraton's regular conservation work is the maintenance of the details on the pillars. This is a renovation of the Pagelaran Bangsal area, specifically for the pillars and details. Specialist are hired to find the right colors and also paint the details with accuracy.
